HIS MAJESTY KING FELIPE VI VISITS THE TACTICAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME (TLP) FACILITIES IN ALBACETE

On 22nd November 2023, His Majesty the King of Spain Felipe VI visited the facilities of the Tactical Leadership Programme in Albacete, being received by the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Air Force, General Javier Salto Martínez-Avial, the Colonel Chief of Albacete’s Air Base Mr. Ignacio Zulueta Martín, the TLP Commandant, Colonel Luis Alberto Martínez Ruiz and Colonel Ignacio Isusi Nieto, Chief of the Maestranza Aérea.

On arrival at the TLP facilities, His Majesty had the opportunity to greet the international seniors of the program and to be present at the initial briefing with the participants in the Fliying Course. At its conclusion, he addressed to the audience a message of recognition and appreciation for the work that the TLP does in benefit of our Air Forces. Next, a working session was held at the TLP Headquarters, in which the TLP Commandant presented the objectives, the resources, the future strategy of the TLP and the main characteristics of the flying course.

Later on, His Majesty was given a tour of the flight simulator (MACE), the hangar and the apron, where he had the opportunity to greet the British and French pilots who had just arrived from the first mission of the day.

His Majesty returned to the main building of the TLP, where, after the group photo with his SP National Component, he signed the Book of Honour and had a cocktail meeting with the personnel of the unit. The event was also attended by the President of Castilla La Mancha, the Government Delegate and the Mayor of Albacete.

After the official lunch, His Majesty could observe the process of taxiing and take-off of the different aircraft participating in the TLP mission.
