40th Anniversary TLP

Last 12th of May 2018, the Tactical Leadership Programme 40th anniversary celebration took place within the TLP facilities, followed by an Open Doors Day organised at Albacete’s Air Base.

The aforementioned celebration was presided over by the Hon. Mr. Lieutenant General César Miguel Simón López, Air Combat Command Deputy Chief (GJMACOM). Several military and civilian authorities, as well as national delegations and TLP staff were also present.

TLP

The Tactical Leadership Program is a center of excellence for advanced combat pilot training.
It was established 40 years ago in Germany, then moved to Belgium and since 2009 located in the Albacete Air Base.

Ala-14

The missions of Ala 14 are assigned, in peacetime, air surveillance and police actions of the airspace of national sovereignty, as well as air defense missions. It is prepared to contribute its capabilities to the Reaction Forces and to the operational plans of the multinational organizations in which Spain participates.

The Ala-14 is equipped with the C-16 Eurofighter weapon system.

Maesal

The Maestranza Aérea de Albacete (MAESAL), founded in 1939, is a centre dedicated to a triple mission: aircraft maintenance, material management and delegated engineering.

The aircraft assigned to MAESAL are the Air Force fighter planes (F-18 and Eurofighter), the teaching jets (F-5 and CASA C-101) and the fire-fighting planes.

After passing through MAESAL for inspection, repair or modification, the aircraft are ready to continue operating safely in the 10 Air Force Units equipped with this equipment.
