
COURSE OBJECTIVES: The course will provide a foundation for understanding the electromagnetic spectrum and how it may best be exploited in joint air operations.
COURSE CONTENT: The course will briefly review electromagnetic, radar and pulse doppler principles before dealing in depth with Electronic Support Measures, Electronic Counter Measures and Electronic Protection Measures. EW force packaging and coordination of the ECR, EA-6B Prowler, F-16CJ and EC-130 Compass Call will be discussed in some depth. EW associated subjects will be covered, including:
Anti Radiation Missiles - HARM and ALARM
Fighter and SAM EW update
ISR support to EW
Lowering the Radar Cross Section
Determining Radar parameters
COURSE LENGTH: 5 Days, conducted 4 times per year.
COURSE COMPOSITION: 30 participants are expected depending on available seating.
The course is aimed at junior personnel who have some experience and interest in EW and its application. Participants must have a NATO Secret security clearance.
